Bike to Work Day
Bike to Work Day is an annual event that promotes the bicycle as an option for commuting to work.
Bike to Work Week will be celebrated May 13-19, with Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Morning Fueling Stations
This year’s Bike to Work Day will include Fueling Stations all around Austin. Fueling Stations will operate from 7 AM – 9 AM and give out a variety of free treats like coffee, tacos, waffles, snacks, and complimentary bike tune-ups for commuters.
A map and listing of all Fueling Stations are available at the bottom of this page. If you would like to host a Fueling Station, you can sign-up via Ghisallo Cycling Initiative‘s 2024 Bike to Work Day Fueling Station Sign-Up form.

MetroBike Austin will be offering free day passes all day on Bike to Work Day.

CapMetro busses and the light rail have a rack for bikes, so you can metro into town with your bike or grab a MetroBike for the rest of your ride in. Thanks to their upgraded Trip Planner to get your route and connections. It handles multi-modal trips involving walking, biking (your’s or a MetroBike), busses, and rail.
Guided Group Rides
Ghisallo Cycling Initiative will be leading two group rides stopping at Fueling Stations along the way to City Hall. Both rides will leave at 7:00 AM!
South to North Ride: Meet at The Spokesman South (440 E St Elmo Rd, Austin, TX 78745)
East to West Ride: Meet at Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center (808 Nile St, Austin, TX 78702)

City Hall Celebration
This central event takes place at the front entrance of City Hall and will include City of Austin Council Members, Austin Transportation Department staff, and other guest speakers.
Multiple groups will be in attendance providing information and swag. Breakfast tacos and beverages will be provided.

After Party
An end of the day wind down with fellow riders at the After Party, hosted by Central Machine Works from 6pm – 8pm.
Food & drink specials for riders! Tons of picnic tables inside and outside, plenty of bike parking, and some excellent live music!
