DESCRIPTION:Austin Bicycle Meals delivers meals by bike to Austinites experiencing homelessness every Saturday and every other Wednesday each month. Ride with us as we pass out our meals as well as water\, feminine hygiene kits\, socks\, rain ponchos\, and dog food to our unhoused neighbors. \nWe ride and deliver as a group and we will provide all the food and items for distribution for everyone to carry. All riders need to bring is some way to carry meals on their bike\, a trailer or a basket works well but a backpack will suffice. Close toed shoes/helmets/lights are a good idea and we provide hi vis vests to wear as well. \nSaturdays rides are typically 4-6 miles and last about an hour with stops and drop-offs\, while Wednesday rides are around 10-12 miles and take about 2 hours.

DESCRIPTION:Kids on Bikes in Parks is a cycling skills clinic presented by Violet Crown. We have a closed course of 1000 ft of grassy parkland for children ages 5-15 to ride their bikes on. We will have open track time with experienced cyclists present to teach lessons and at the top of every hour we will have timed laps for kids to test themselves and track their progress. \nBeginners Wave – 9 am \nIntermediate Wave – 10 am \nAdvanced Wave – 11 am \nEach group has use of the course for 1 hour. \n  \nNo bike? No problem. We have a fleet of bicycles from Woom Bikes to loan to any child wishing to try one or without a bike of their own to ride the course. \nAll participants are eligible to receive some giveaways from Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop. \nParents/guardians must remain on-site during the event. \nPLEASE NOTE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON A BIKE.

Please bring a helmet or ask to borrow one. Early Bird Special Riders get 10% off\, thanks to team sponsor @deardiary_coffee ! \nThis ride is open to all WTFNB and Allies. \nRide Requirements:\n-Helmet\n-Flat kit\n-Water\n-Phone\, ID\, and cash/credit card\n-Snacks \nGroup Ride Etiquette:\nTeam Snacks is here to have fun and support you in all your cycling endeavors. We encourage getting to know each other out there on the road! \nPlease keep these things in mind when riding in a group:\n-We ride no more than two abreast\, although there will be times when we need to ride single file. Please listen for directions from the ride leader.\n-Be mindful of where you put your front wheel. Please avoid cross-wheeling ⎯ either ride directly behind or beside someone.\n-Point out obstacles and road debris. You don’t need to yell out every twig or pothole cover\, just the things that may present danger or an obstacle to the riders behind you.\n-Basic rule of group riding: If the person in front of you points something out\, you need to point it out to the person behind you.
