SUMMARY:Full Moon Cruise - Flower Moon
DESCRIPTION:Austin’s full moon rides fall into two categories : \n\nThe monthly full moon ride\, which happens on the weekend night (Friday or Saturday) closest to the full moon\, assembling at 11:00pm and taking off between 11:30pm and 11:59pm (so don’t arrive later than 11:30pm!)\, generally following a different route each month\, and\nThe annual full moon ride\, which happens on the Saturday night/Sunday morning closest to the full moon in September\, meeting at 2:00am and leaving at about 2:15-2:30am\, following approximately the same route each year.\n\n(Note that we changed the schedule for monthly rides in January 2024\, going from “the night closest to the full moon” to “the weekend night closest to the full moon”.) \nBoth rides meet at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge (right here\, or possibly under the “circle” if it’s raining)\, are unsupported and ‘ride at your own risk’. We try not to drop slow riders\, but it can happen\, so being prepared is wise — having lights\, tools to change a flat\, water\, a cell phone\, etc. \nFor more details about individual rides and to get reminders about upcoming rides\, join the ATX (((MOON))) group on Facebook. \nThe full list of Full Moon Rides during the year is available here: https://cycling.frenzied.us/full-moon-rides

SUMMARY:Breakfast Club CMW Ride
DESCRIPTION:Breakfast Club is for everyone. We don’t care if it’s your first time riding a bike or if you’ve raced in the Tour de France. Once a month\, join us on a Saturday morning at Central Machine Works for coffee\, a two hour ride and breakfast. \nEmphasis on the latter. \nShow up to Central Machine Works (CMW) once a month for the big ride. CMW is our home… but sometimes we change that up though because life is short and we like to have fun. On a typical ride\, show up before 8:00 AM roll out & enter through CMW’s back parking lot on E 5th Street. \n=== \nCHOOSE YOUR GROUP & ROLL OUT\nBreakfast Club is for everyone and we mean it! \nWe ride in 4-5 groups: A\, B\, C and D\, and a Walnut Creek Trail group. Groups A\, B and C have vehicle escorts\, often times with an officer both in front of and behind each group. We have several ride leaders who will be sprinkled throughout the groups… be on the lookout for matching kit and helmets. \nBefore roll out\, the ride leader on the mic will call out each group and have everyone stage on E 5th Street. \nFirst time and not sure who to ride with? We recommend going one group lower than you think so you can get a feel for how it all works. Worst case scenario\, you’ll have a good time and know more for the next one! \nA GROUP \nOur fastest group. It’s hard to put a speed on it\, but know that this group likes to MOVE. This one is technically a drop ride\, but the ride leaders will regroup once or twice throughout the morning. Don’t fret\, if you fall off know that B group will more than likely be behind ya on a similar route ready to scoop you up. \nB GROUP \nPossibly our largest group. While this one doesn’t roll quite as fast as A group\, B group tries to keep a constant\, slightly slower pace on a slightly shorter route. The ride leaders will regroup a few times throughout the ride and try their best to keep everyone together. Towards the end of the ride\, the group can stretch out a bit\, but don’t worry\, you will more than likely find yourself among plenty of people heading back to CMW to earn what ya burned. \nC GROUP \nNew to riding in big groups? This is the one for you. The ride leaders spend a lot of time helping with the basics of riding etiquette and regroup several times. While this is still technically a drop ride\, C group tries its best to stay together at all times and you can likely count on at least one mass photo stop during the ride. If you don’t know about it\, you just have to experience it! \nD GROUP \nThis one is the soul of Breakfast Club and an absolute no-drop ride. “No Drop” means that the group stays together NO MATTER WHAT. This is a great one for first-time riders or those who may have been off the bike for a while… we’ve all been there! D group will do the same route nearly every month\, rolling around town\, regrouping as needed\, learning the basics of group riding & calling out road debris! Above all\, D group will have a BLAST. \nWalnut Creek Trail \nPreviously known as D group\, we’ll always have a Walnut Creek Trail option for those wanting an out and back on the Walnut Creek Trail. Only a few blocks away from CMW\, this group is the perfect introduction to riding a bike and will have more one-on-one time with a ride leader (or two) to enjoy the morning & learn any basics of the bike that ya may want to! \n=== \nBREAKFAST\nThe real reason everyone showed up \nRack your bike and grab yourself some breakfast! Central Machine Works opens early just for us\, so sit wherever you like and order yourself a pint (if you indulge) and a breakfast pizza. Breakfast Club is full of so many incredible people\, so play musical tables and meet someone new. ANYONE is welcome for this part\, whether you ride bikes or not\, so have your family\, your neighbor\, your dog or your neighbor’s dog meet you to enjoy the party.
